Maple Bride

In Western weddings the bride is most beautifully adorned. The bridesmaids are also elegantly attired and made to look pretty.  But they are always a little less fancy than the bride, so that the bride stands out and looks even more stunning. She is made to look like the clear winner for the day. That is why she is getting married and not the bridesmaids.

Well, there is an abundance of maple trees in the Northeast of America. To witness the awakening of a Maple tree, from the deep slumber of winter, into Spring, is a very beautiful sight. In my neighborhood there is a forest of Maples. Every year, one of the trees is the first to get spring buds and the last to shed leaves in the Fall. It clearly has the longest leafy season. As I watch it come to life, it appears like a bride with its spring buds, while the trees around it are plainly adorned in leafless branches! Hence I call the former a “Maple Bride’! So as to share the ever growing  beauty of this bride, I present to you all, a series of photos, that helps to explain my point.
