Summer Reading
Summer has officially begun and it has brought with it a second wave of roses, in my garden. These include crowded bunches and quiet couples (see above). For the past 3 weeks or so most of my leisure time has been occupied with reading a wonderful book. So while enjoying the outdoor air, these pretty sites and the book, I almost forgot to blog! So although I had promised to tell you about books that would make fine ‘graduation gifts’, my mind is itching to tell you about what I just finished reading. Hence this post is devoted to my picks for reading this summer.
In the recent past, I have told you about two great books by Khaled Hosseini (one and two, in case you missed them). As much as I enjoyed reading them, they left me with a yearning to read something contemporary, modern, progressive and non-fiction, next. To quench these yearnings, I have chosen the following three books for this summer:
- Imagining India: The Idea of a Renewed Nation by Nandan Nilekani
- The Post American World by Fareed Zakaria
- Conversations with Frank Gehry by Barbara Isenberg
Of late many new subscribers have flocked to this blog, who love to read. Keeping them in mind, I would be preparing reviews of the above three books, as and when I finish them. I just finished reading the first book in the above list and my mind is already flooded with what to write about it. But till then you can read a new page on this blog, titled ‘Top Twenty Posts & Pages’. The link to it can also be found at the bottom left corner of your screen. It essentially contains what is currently ‘hot’ in this blog. With this I wish you all a great summer and happy reading
